...the renewal of the Catholic school must give special attention both to the parents of the pupils and to the formation of a perfect educating community.
— John Paul II, Familiaris Consortio

The Colloquium program began as an answer to John Paul II’s call for “a new form of cooperation between parents and Christian communities” and collaboration of family associations in faith formation (Familiaris Consortio 40). The goal of the Colloquium is to strengthen and assist parents in the creation of a robust Catholic family culture, in order to empower both parents and children to carry out their apostolic mission in the world.

Because we are firmly convinced of the absolutely essential role of parents, the Colloquium is considered a required aspect of participation in Regina Mater.

Colloquium meets roughly once per month. In the fall, we cover topics in the “Schoenstatt Core”, such as spiritual daily order, home shrine, organic vs mechanistic thinking, covenant culture, and everyday sanctity. The spring topics relate to our theological studies for the year, and feature various speakers and panel sessions.
